The Biblical “Law of Corban”

This article describes the biblical “law of corban”. It describes three different biblical renderings of Corban.
When we studied the formulation of Trusts and Foundations with the Rabbis they used the Hebrew texts and the ancient Old Testament study guides to which Jesus refers. Therein they showed us how the idea of Corban eventually evolved into modern Trust law through the Greeks and Romans.

There are several references in that book to the “Law of Corban” with legal cites of both ethics and profligate uses of trust assets.
Some people set aside assets touted as “In Trust” or “In Foundation” and then use it for their own purposes. This is an abuse of the Law of Corban.
A proper trust or foundation has specific purposes with lifelong goals usually that take decades to accomplish.

Some people use trusts to dodge their obligations or legal responsibilities. The upshot of the Trust is “What you promise, Do.” And, take care of others.
Isaiah 58: 6-12
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
