Our Favorite AI Legal Research Tools

Throughout this site we recommend that all members should read and learn and use the law and subscribe to a cost effective legal research tool to conduct ongoing legal education. See, for instance:

Legal Research Sources, Family Guardian Fellowship, Note 10 at the bottom of the page, for a list of all available services

After having surveyed all the tools listed above, we conclude that the BEST and most affordable tool for doing AI legal research to help you craft your legal arguments and briefs is:

Vlex
https://vlex.com

Vlex merged with Fastcase in 2023 and now uses the Fastcase U.S. database. The AI tools for accelerating your legal research are impressive and quite affordable. You can watch a demonstration of its capabilities at:

https://vimeo.com/showcase/11016912

The above is a demonstration of their Vincent AI tools. Vincent comes as a standard part of their monthly Vlex subscription for only $79/month. This make is the most affordable and capable AI legal research tool we have found so far.

Our second choice is:

Casemine (part of Casetext, which is owned by Westlaw)
https://www.casemine.com

Casemine is based on the ChatGPT AI chatbot API, by the way. It costs about $50/month. NothanksIRS uses this tool for their case research.
