The True Meaning of Faith in Jesus Christ

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

[Rom. 12:1, Bible, NKJV]

The story of Job in the Book of Job was an early precursor to the Christ story.

Book of Job

The implication of this video is that if you ARE NOT a Christ follower, you:

  1. Will live for the moment instead of the future. Carpe Diem
  2. Are more likely to put self first instead of the greater good of others.
  3. Are more likely to do reckless things without thinking of the future consequences.
  4. Are more likely to imitate what the rest of the world is doing or thinking instead of basing your choices and behavior on: “What would Jesus do?”

Lastly, Jordan Peterson says at 1:00

“We figured out. That’s why we put the Crucifix at the center of civilization”.

We disagree. The Bible is not a human creation. God created it. GOD figured it out. Human revelation from God simply allowed God’s laws and principles to be written down. Peterson STEALS the credit from God for what God did and imputes it to sinful men. Sacrilege. He’s still a baby Christian, even with a PhD.

If in fact, there is “nothing new under the sun”, man doesn’t really create or invent ANYTHING:

“That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.”

[Eccl. 1:9, Bible, NKJV]

The other very important revelation we learn from this interchange is that:

  1. Sacrifice is GOOD for self and good for society generally.
  2. The object of the sacrifice cannot be anything other than God.

The above are in sharp dissonance with the objectivist philosophy of atheists like Ayn Rand. The whole theme of her book Atlas Shrugged is that NO ONE should sacrifice any part of themselves for a greater good. See:

Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged v. SEDM Mission Statement, SEDM
https://sedm.org/ayn-rands-atlas-shrugged-v-sedm-mission-statement/

We can understand where this philosophy came from: Atheism. Ayn Rand as an atheist dissident from the Soviet Union who wrote about the evils of communism. However, she never graduated from the atheist roots of communism. Thus, her message was incomplete and ineffective because it conflicted with the notion of personal sacrifice.
