REBUTTAL: A Response to People Who are Offended by Us Telling Them “You didn’t do your homework”

OUR STATEMENT:

You aren’t doing your homework if you missed this critical information found all over the site so that it is not missed.

THEIR RESPONSE:

I kinda resent your snarky comment about not doing my homework. Really?!

OUR RESPONSE:

1.  I have never questioned your ability or great skill to focus critically on things in front of you that interest you such as I have sent links to.  And I appreciate the attention you give to those things.  That was not the reason for my prior comment.

2.  I’m sure you know, however, that curiosity towards a broad range of things that initially seem uninteresting, NOT obvious, and not immediately in front of you or brought attention to you is required to win this war or remain safe.  That level of discipline and attention to detail is what allows one to connect a broad range of dots together that seem unconnected and disparate, like I/we did in the following and as you even pointed out:

3. Only focusing on what interests or immediately benefits the reader or only what is brought to their attention is a recipe for a jail sentence in this field.  Some people have called this selfish and narcissistic.  A reactive approach to freedom and a lack of curiosity about all freedom subjects is what gets most people in trouble.  A lack of “due diligence” is what we call that on our site.  The only remedy is education about many things far beyond what at least initially don’t even seem necessary to learn or uninteresting.

4.  At one point during our recent interactions, you wanted me to reinvent yet another wheel that has already been addressed and I said I didn’t want to reinvent that wheel and even pointed you to materials that already addressed the subject directly which you could have found for yourself before even asking the question.  But you didn’t, which would seem to be an indication of a lack of interest or motivation.

Perhaps you were busy at the time you asked to reinvent that wheel, which is understandable.  Your scope of interests so far seems limited only to tax subjects and commercial benefit to you or your clients.  We warn our readers if that is their main or primary interest, then they will give us or our materials a bad name.  This is because “the love of money is the root of evil” in the biblical context.  A much higher motivation to more important things is necessary to win this war.  Call it “high road” if you want.  We wouldn’t have done most of what is on the site if our only motivation was personal commercial benefit to myself or my members.  The fact that we have “gone the extra mile” on just about every subject is probably the main reason our members are attracted to and trust us and can see our commitment and sincerity on the subjects we cover.  We hope to see more of that level of commitment from you, not because it benefits us, but because it benefits the entire freedom community who visit our site.

I agree with and share your perspective about needing to learn about many broad areas far beyond the tax stuff.

It is tragic that elected leaders make flowery, deceptive comments about freedom, justice and liberty while working tirelessly to subvert and destroy these hallowed principles.

Sigh.

I have not earned any money from this stuff since I was last paid in ____, when I won two civil summons enforcement actions in federal court for a self employed carpenter who I met in second grade. He died of cancer in _______ after smoking cigarettes for about forty years.

Therefore, I have had no commercial interests in this game since ____.

And I have had no clients since _____.
