Jesus Christ is Our Only King and We Serve No Other Sovereign-Tim Keller
When he says “we Americans serve no sovereign” he means HUMAN sovereign. Note also that he says that we are representatives and agents of God during our time on earth as Christians. We have to wonder what Separation of Church and State means in that context. As far as we can tell, the only thing it can mean realistically is that we cannot simultaneously serve God as Christians and thereby practice our faith while ALSO pursing privileges or franchises or the public offices or agencies that animate them.
This sermon is a restatement of the following paragraph at the bottom of the opening page of our website:
People of all races, genders, political beliefs, sexual orientations, and nearly all religions are welcome here. All are treated equally under REAL “law”. The only way to remain truly free and equal under the civil law is to avoid seeking government civil services, benefits, property, special or civil status, exemptions, privileges, or special treatment. All such pursuits of government services or property require individual and lawful consent to a franchise and the surrender of inalienable constitutional rights AND EQUALITY in the process, and should therefore be AVOIDED. The rights and equality given up are the “cost” of procuring the “benefit” or property from the government, in fact. Nothing in life is truly “free”. Anyone who claims that such “benefits” or property should be free and cost them nothing is a thief who wants to use the government as a means to STEAL on his or her behalf. All just rights spring from responsibilities/obligations under the laws of a higher power. If that higher power is God, you can be truly and objectively free. If it is government, you are guaranteed to be a slave because they can lawfully set the cost of their property as high as they want as a Merchant under the U.C.C. If you want it really bad from people with a monopoly, then you will get it REALLY bad. Bend over. There are NO constitutional limits on the price government can charge for their monopoly services or property. Those who want no responsibilities can have no real/PRIVATE rights, but only privileges dispensed to wards of the state which are disguised to LOOK like unalienable rights. Obligations and rights are two sides of the same coin, just like self-ownership and personal responsibility. For the biblical version of this paragraph, read 1 Sam. 8:10-22. If you faithfully implement the above, then:
- The only “king” above you will be God and there will be no human “sovereigns” between you and God. The Catholic church violates this by putting the pope and the bishops between you and God, and thus implements idolatry.
- You will not surrender your sovereignty or sovereign immunity just like the government has. That sovereignty was delegated to them by “the People” of which you are a part.
- Because you did not surrender your sovereignty, the only choice the government has is to treat you as an equal to them and leave you alone.
- You will no longer be a CIVIL “subject”, which is an agent of the state. In a truly free country, being a CIVIL statutory “subject” has to be voluntary or the Thirteenth Amendment is violated if they enforce against you without an injured party.
- You will still be subject to the common law, the criminal law, and theological laws of your religion and thus NOT an “anarchist”.
- You will achieve “legal justice”, which is the the right to be left alone, as we prove in:

The above is how Christians actually PRACTICE their faith as required by the Bible, and its protected by the First Amendment. The practical political and legal result of practicing our faith is also described in the Bible:
“He brings the princes to nothing;
He makes the judges of the earth useless.”
[Isaiah 40:23, Bible, NKJV]
Do you think that just MAYBE, JUST MAYBE judges and attorneys who will lose most of their business by being forced by organic law to allow this approach are going make it easy for you to do this? Meaning, to you think they are really going to do their MAIN job of delivering “justice” (Form #05.050) as legally defined by respecting your right to be LEFT ALONE by them in the process? NOT! They inevitably and vainly want to aggrandize themselves and maximize their own revenue and importance and to hell with everyone else. And this attitude will be their main motivation to resist allowing you to leave their franchise system and govern your own life at least civilly without their participation and interference, except of course when you injure the equal rights of another.
His most interesting comment is that People are designed by God to be “ruled”, and that democracy or theology are the only two sources. He indirectly refers to democracy as “poison” but also calls it “medicine”. He refers to theocracy or theology as “food” rather than “medicine” for the sinfulness of mankind. Thus, he says that you only really have two choices as far as who will rule you, God or corrupt Man. This is very similar to the following statement we have posted on our opening page as mentioned above.
