The Importance of Being Ethical, with Jordan Peterson
In this talk, Jordan Peterson describes why it is scientifically IMPOSSIBLE to order a moral and ethical society, the scientific realm, or even the political realm properly without Judeo Christian values at its center.
His biggest criticism of the left is their assertion that “the will to power” is at the heart of our approach to the world. We agree with Peterson that this is a terrible basis for social organization, and on our site, that attitude manifests itself as the willingness to abuse the civil statutory code as a method to subdue and control people through civil enforcement, penalties, and “distraint”. We say that constitutes SLAVERY, which is illegal, and that the civil statutory code is a franchise that you must volunteer for before it can be enforced against you. In other words, the civil code is a body of rules for club members, and you have to consent to join before the rules become relevant or enforceable against you.
Like us, Jordan Peterson emphasizes at the end of his talk the importance of “the divine sovereign individual” and condemns any attempts by others to undermine that sovereignty. Notice the emphasis on “divine”, as opposed to SECULAR, even though he is a former atheist now turned Christian psychologist.
Peterson even goes so far as to say that our entire culture is based on the notion of the “divine sovereign individual”. We agree with him on this subject. To the extent that we deviate from this approach is the extent to which we corrupt that society. We would also argue that there is no such thing as a sovereign human and that sovereignty is impossible WITHOUT divinity behind it. That notion is the bedrock of this entire site, in fact.
