An Introduction to the Sovereign Gospel
This sermon explains that God is the ONLY true sovereign and that we can therefore only be “sovereign” when we are acting as His divine agents under the delegated authority of His holy law and word, the Bible. We explain this concept further in:

In this sermon, John Macarthur points out the many passages in the Bible where there is an irreconcilable tension between Gods sovereignty and man’s responsibility and free will. This tension creates some seeming inexplicable conflicts in logic and reason that cannot be understood or explained by modern philosophical thought. He says that we should just learn to accept these things as they are explained in His Word, because man’s reason and wisdom alone cannot reconcile the tension. In that sense, these concepts are truly a mystery that we may never understand while we inhabit this dying and corrupt world and can only learn when we are reunited with our Creator to receive His divine wisdom on this important subject.
