How to: How to Train Your Friends and Family to Avoid Presumptions and Act On and Believe Only Verifiable Facts/Knowledge Without Offending Them

Most of what people think they “know” is actually a “belief” that cannot be substantiated with real evidence.  Rationality, on the other hand, is based ONLY on facts and evidence and NOT “belief”.  Thus, most people in effect are IRRATIONAL and must be trained to both think and act in a rational way that is based ONLY on evidence and NOT “belief”.  When people are confronted with this reality, they sometimes become defensive and try to ostracize those who point out that they are behaving irrationally.  This psychologist and therapist points out these realities in an interesting way that will guide you in training your friends and family members to think and behave more rationally without offending them or compromising your credibility with them.  This is an important skill that takes years to develop.

In legal terms, a lawyer would say that most people think and act presumptuously.  In the legal field, presumptions violate due process.  A presumption is in essence a “belief” that has no evidence to support it.  After you watch this short video, learning the rules of evidence in the legal field is a great way to train yourself how to think more rationally.  You can read these rules at:
